Abstract
The paper describes an attempt of reconstruction of the sound speed pr ofile in water column by means of the noise tomography method. The sou nd speed profile in water column was measured directly and then it was reconstructed by means of the remote sensing technique mainly to chec k the tomography method. The source of continuous noise in the experim ent was placed at a depth of 306 m. The array of hydrophons was used a s the receiving system which was vertically set at the autonomous bott om buoy. The cross and auto correlation function measurements of the n oise that propagates from a moving source directly and with reflection from the sea surface gives a possibility to solve the inverse problem . The requirements to the experimental data are discussed. The inverse algorithm is described together with the estimation of errors in the reconstruction procedure.
