The paleogeographical environments during two main Late Pleistocene ep
ochs are discussed, namely the main features of the late interglacial
period of maximum glaciation. The sediments of the recent interglacial
period are geologically correlated at various dipsomaniacal levels. T
hese characteristics allow us to estimate the structural intensity dur
ing 120,000 years. During the last glacial period the conditions in th
e western and eastern Arctic were different. Their shelves were respec
tively influenced and not influenced by glacial covers.
