Abstract
Lagrange's interpolation formula is generalized to tangential interpol ation. This includes interpolation by vector polynomials and by ration al vector functions with prescribed pole characteristics. The formula is applied to obtain representations of the inverses of Cauchy-Vanderm onde matrices generalizing former results.
