Abstract
Currently, three procedures are commonly considered viable options for the surgical management of certain patients with pulmonary emphysema: (1) bullectomy, (2) lung transplantation, and (3) lung volume reducti on surgery. imaging studies, such as chest radiography, CT scan, and M R imaging, are useful for diagnostic purposes and for preoperative pat ient selection for surgical intervention. The imaging studies have als o played an important role in postoperative management.
