In the present note we consider the effect of radially expanding one e
nd of a cylindrical elastic membrane that is also subjected to longitu
dinal extension coupled with a twist. In doing this we start with the
results of Tait, Steigmann and Zhong who studied the extension and twi
st of a cylinder with fixed end radii. We use tension field theory to
provide a model of the membrane in wrinkled regions giving rise to exp
licit analytic solutions within these regions. Elsewhere we rely on a
numerical scheme to provide graphical results which are displayed for
various quantities of interest.
