Current-voltage characteristics of a bilayered structure of acridine o
range doped poly(vinyl alcohol) and crystal violet doped poly(vinyl al
cohol) have been investigated. Current-voltage characteristics exhibit
the rectifying property of the bilayered structures. The best rectify
ing characteristics have been found for a doping concentration of 5% w
eight of dyes. In the high voltage range, the I-V characteristics are
linear in the forward and reverse directions with I-F/I-R congruent to
14. A complex tunnelling mechanism is thought to be operating in the
presence of traps and interface states.
