M. Aoki et al., IMPLICATIONS OF BARYON ASYMMETRY FOR THE ELECTRIC-DIPOLE MOMENT OF THE NEUTRON, Progress of theoretical physics, 98(6), 1997, pp. 1325-1332
The supersymmetric standard model (SSM) contains a new source of CP vi
olation in the mass-squared matrices for squarks, which could imply th
e t squark mediation of the charge transport mechanism producing the b
aryon asymmetry of the universe. This CP-violating source also induces
the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron. We show that this t-
squark transport can lead to a baryon asymmetry consistent with its ob
served value within reasonable ranges of SSM parameters, where the neu
tron EDM has a magnitude slightly smaller than its experimental upper
bound.
