A circular microstrip antenna has been modified by shorting along the
zero field to yield shorted semi-circular and 90 degrees sectoral micr
ostrip antennas. Experimental results on these antennas are presented.
The shorted 90 degrees sectoral antenna results in a size reduction o
f four times without any significant change in performance. The area i
s further reduced by partially shorting one of the edges of the 90 deg
rees sectoral antenna.
