We present measurements of the temperature dependence of line widths i
n IR absorption for C-60, C-70, C-84 and Sc2C84. Experiments were perf
ormed between 50 and 400 K and between 400 and 2000 cm(-1), respective
ly. The observed behavior is explained within a model assuming a vibra
tional-rotational coupling above and a three-phonon decay process belo
