Abstract
The authors present a neu motion compensation technique for bidirectio nal predictive video coding, which partitions a frame into variable si ze blocks according to the local motion contents and yields an optimal rate-distortion performance. Preliminary results show that this metho d is more efficient than the conventional fixed-size method.
