Abstract
Alkynyl allenes undergo intramolecular Pauson-Khand (P-K) cycloadditio ns to provide functionalized alpha-methylene and 4-alkylidene cyclopen tenones in good yields. These studies have demonstrated a dependence o f the pi-bond selectivity of this cycloaddition on the substitution pa ttern of the allene. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserve d.
