Obturator hernia is extremely rare and represents a therapeutic and di
agnostic challenge. The diagnosis is infrequently made preoperatively
because of the nonspecific clinical and radiologic signs that in turn
delay the surgical treatment, which is responsible for the known incre
ase in morbidity and mortality. Herein a case is presented of a patien
t with an incarcerated obturator hernia that was diagnosed and success
fully treated using laparoscopic surgery.
