Abstract
The rare earth luminescence materials LaOBr:Tb3+(Dy3+) were synthesize d at high temperature, and the structure and luminescence characterist ics were studied. The co-doping Dy3+ may make the energy of D-5(3) of Tb3+ transfer to D-5(4) level, which makes the emission of D-5(4)-F-7( J) (J=0, 1...6), specially of D-5(4)-F-7(5), enhance obviously, and th e total brightness is increased by about 40% in comparison with the sa mples without Dy3+ cations, as a result of the energy transfer of dipo le-dipole interaction.
