Abstract
Inheritance of resistance in the wheat cultivar 'Arjun'(HD 2009) again st leaf rust pathotype 77-1 revealed that its durable resistance is at tributable to a novel dominant adult plant resistance (APR) gene. Lr13 , another gene reported in the cultivar played no role. This new gene is established as different from Lr34, the only effective APR gene fro m Triticum aestivum known for durability.
