Abstract
2,6-Dimethoxy-1,4-benzoquinone was submitted to prenylation in the pre sence of PbBr2/Al/C5H9Br and Zn/C5H9Br respectively. The first conditi on affords 2,2'-dimethyl-5,7-dimethoxybenzopyran-6-ol while the second gaves mono and diprenylated derivatives.
