Abstract
This paper is dedicated to the description of an interesting experimen tal phenomenon that was discovered in irradiated polymethyl methacryla te (PMMA). The breakdown voltage V-b and electric-tree inception (init iation) time tau(i) in PMMA were investigated under 50 Hz AC voltage a fter inhomogeneous proton irradiation. An anomalous relationship among V-b, tau(i) and the proton free length (the depth of irradiation) R i n PMMA was found.
