C. Guran et al., CONTRIBUTION TO THE CYCLOPHOSPHAZENE CHEMISTRY - 3 - COMPLEX-COMPOUNDS OF CU(II) WITH SUBSTITUTED CYCLOPHOSPHAZATRIENE DERIVATIVES, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 42(7), 1997, pp. 609-614
The present paper deals with some new Cu(II) complex compounds with (8
-hydroxyquinolino)-trichlorocyclophosphazatriene (L-1) and tetra(morph
olino)-dichlorocyclophosphazatriene (L-2) as ligands. The new ligands
were synthesised in well-established conditions. As was established in
MO diagram calculation applied to the ligands L-1 and L-2 the electro
nic densities on the P, N-cycle' N-exocycle and O atoms have different
values. Consequently, the ligands L-1 and L-2 have different coordina
tive powers toward Cu(II) ions and Cu(II) complex compounds separated
for the molar ratio Cu:L (1:1, 1:2 and 3:2) have different stereochemi
stries. The absence of the epr signal suggests the dimerization of Cu(
II) - L-1 complexes, while the Cu(II) - L-2 complex compounds are char
acterized by strong epr signals according to their monomer structures.
The electronic and IR spectra of type Cu(II) complex compounds with L
-1 and L-2 ligands suggest the proposed formula: [(CuLCl2)-Cl-1](2); (
(CuL2Cl2)-Cl-1](2); [(CuLCl2)-Cl-2]; [(Cu2LCl4)-Cl-2; ((Cu3L2Cl4)-Cl-2
]Cl-2.
