G. Fuchs et V. Pickalov, VECTOR AND SCALAR TOMOGRAPHY ON FUSION PLASMAS USING HAMILTONIAN AND VARIATIONAL-METHODS, Plasma physics and controlled fusion, 40(1), 1998, pp. 91-96
A method is presented to obtain tomographic inversions of line-integra
ted measurements in magnetized plasmas, both for the cases of scalar a
nd vector fields. For the Hamiltonian how of the magnetic field in tok
amaks the vector tomographic problem can be reduced to a scalar one. I
n many fusion experiments the amount of measured data is insufficient
to allow an inversion without further assumptions. We present a variat
ional method, where such assumptions can easily be implemented by the
use of constraints. We outline the procedures using the example of obt
aining the Psi function on tokamaks from Faraday rotation measurements
