Abstract
Observations were made of expansion, in a transverse quasisteady magne tic field (B approximate to 10 T), of a Tenon plasma generated by Nd l aser radiation (lambda = 1.06 mu m, E approximate to 6 J; and tau appr oximate to 1 ns), Time-integrated two-dimensional images of the plasma radiance were obtained in the spectrum of continuous and line x-ray r adiation, and spectroheliograms were recorded of the 2(1)P(1)-1(1)S(0) and 2(3)P(1)-1(1)S(0) lines of the He-like FVIII ion. The plasma radi ation was found to be anisotropic relative to the expansion axis and t he dependence of the intensity on the distance from the target changed as a result of the influence of the transverse magnetic field on the plasma dynamics.
