Hs. Rathore et al., PREVENTION OF TOXIC EFFECTS OF MERCURIC-CHLORIDE IN MICE EPIDIDYMIS WITH A HOMEOPATHIC DRUG CALADIUM COMPLEX, Journal of advanced zoology, 18(2), 1997, pp. 72-76
Adult Swiss albino male mice exposed to mercuric chloride via drinking
water at 5 mu g/ml for 100 days, revealed reduction in the wet weight
of degenerated epididymis, absence of sperms, infertility and low lev
el of serum testosterone. These effects were reduced remarkably and fe
rtility was restored when drug (5 mg/mouse/day orally) was used during
mercury exposure for 100 days or after mercury exposure for next 60 d
ays (post therapy). Natural recovery after mercury exposure for 60 day
s remained ineffective.
