Abstract
An analysis is made for the steady heat transfer from a circular cylin der and a sphere embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium. Analytic al solutions for large Peclet numbers are obtained when the cylinder a nd the sphere are maintained at constant temperatures. The solutions a re compared with known results from open literature and found to be in excellent agreement. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd.
