Abstract
A linear Boltzmann model is used for studying a condensation-evaporati on problem in a bounded domain. First the time asymptotic limit is der ived, which solves the associated stationary problem. Then the Milne p roblem is discussed for the boundary layer. Finally a fluid approximat ion is obtained in the small mean free path limit with initial and bou ndary layers of zeroth order.
