Dl. Boiko et al., STABILITY OF THE FREQUENCY OF SELF-MODULATION OSCILLATIONS IN A MONOLITHIC ND-YAG SOLID-STATE RING LASER, Quantum electronics, 27(7), 1997, pp. 635-638
An investigation was made of the cause of the instability of the self-
modulation frequency omega(m) of a monolithic Nd:YAG ring laser. One o
f the main reasons for this instability was a strong temperature depen
dence of the effective coupling coefficients of counterpropagating wav
es characterising extracavity components, A method for weakening such
coupling was proposed and implemented experimentally, This method made
it possible to reduce the instability of the self-modulation frequenc
y by over two orders of magnitude.
