PREPARATION AND STRUCTURES OF SULFOXIMINO COMPOUNDS

The crystal and molecular structures of [(CH3)(2)SON]SO2CH3 (1), [(CH3 )(2)SON](2)SO2 (2) and [(CH3)(2)SON](3)S+Cl- (3) are determined. 1 and 3 are prepared by new methods. 1 crystallizes triclinic (P (1) over b ar) with a = 588.3, b = 768.6, c = 1640.5 pm, alpha = 89.26 degrees, b eta = 89,38 degrees, gamma = 77,08 degrees and Z = 4. 2 crystallizes m onoclinic (C2/c) with a = 2387.2, b = 638.5, c = 2870.9 pm, beta = 113 ,15 degrees and Z = 16. 3 crystallizes orthorhombic (Pca21) with a = 2 892.4, b = 1055.6, c = 953.5 pm and Z = 8. The bonds are discussed on the basis of an NBO analysis for 1 and the IR and NMR spectra, resp.
