Abstract
Combining an existing process simulator with new VOC emission models a nd VOC generation rates allows simulation of VOC emissions from variou s processes and for closure options. The authors present a VOC emissio n model for vacuum drum washer hoods using vapor and liquid equilibriu m and mass transfer rates. The model can match mill methanol measureme nts using few model parameters. Simulation of the impact of stripped c ondensate use on the second post oxygen washer showers and reducing ho od air discharge volume on methanol emission shows typical model appli cations.
