INFANTILE DIGITAL FIBROMA REPORT ON 11 CASES

Infantile digital fibroma is a benign lesion, but it is sometimes a lo cally aggressive proliferative lesion. After having examined the liter ature, we analysed 11 cases of infantile digital fibroma among childre n between 1 to 16 years, with a long-term follow-up (14 years). We had 4 recurrences. Treatment was surgical. The histological diagnosis has required special stains to put in evidence the typical cytoplasmic eo sinophil elements. Surgery usually involved excision and grafting. We also discuss therapeutic measures.
