The single-crystal X-ray structural determination of {cis-[PdCl2(TPA)(
2)]}(2) . H2O (TPA = 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane) establishes tha
t pairs of cis-[PdCl2(TPA)(2)] molecules are linked about inversion ce
ntres by intermolecular Pd ... H ... C three-centre-four-electron inte
ractions (2.86, 3.00 Angstrom for the two independent dimers); the wat
er molecule links these dimers via O-H ... N hydrogen bonds to form in
finite chains extending in the c-direction in the crystal lattice.
