Abstract
The synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of [Au(NO3)(CN-Bu-t)] are re ported, a first for a C- and O-bonded gold(I) species; it is an effect ive precursor for chemical deposition of gold on iron oxide to give ca talysts which efficiently oxidise CO in air at low temperatures.
