Abstract
In the cation of the title compound, C16H18NO2+.BF4-, the pyridyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 12.4(6)degrees with the phenyl ring. The ca tions are packed in an antiparallel fashion along the a axis through p pi-p pi and dipole-dipole interactions, and form layers through C-H . .. O hydrogen bonds. The anions are located between the layers.
