Abstract
The title compound, C20H18, is centrosymmetric and adopts a twisted co nformation. This result contrasts related unsubstituted systems, where rotational disorder is inevitably found. The different behaviour is r ationalized in terms of the absence of pi-pi interactions in the latti ce of the title compound.
