Abstract
A procedure for determining metal traces in garnet grains from Yakut k imberlites by secondary-ion mass spectrometry was developed and experi mentally tested. The procedure is based on the determination of relati ve sensitivity factors for Ni, Ga, Sr, Y, and Zr with reference to an internal standard (manganese). Calibration was performed with the use of data obtained in preliminary measurements of 10 garnet samples by X -ray spectral analysis with ion excitation.
