Abstract
ELECTROMAGNETIC interference (EMI) generated by an external or interna l source can severely affect the performance of a normal telecommunica tions system. This has become a key design concern with the advancemen t of portable wireless telephones, where the antenna may be located ri ght on the transceiver. Moreover, the miniaturization of portable prod ucts often results in different circuit modules being placed in very c lose proximity-thereby increasing the possibility of mutual interferen ce. It is therefore important that precautions should be taken during the transceiver design to minimize the effect of the EMI produced by i nternaI and external sources. Some simple methods can be used to predi ct and minimize EMI in wireless systems.
