C. Arias et al., INFLUENCE OF THE PURIFICATION OF SODIUM DODECYL-SULFATE ON THE PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES OF SOLUTIONS AND O W EMULSIONS/, Drug development and industrial pharmacy, 24(1), 1998, pp. 95-100
The effect of the purification of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) has bee
n studied in aqueous solutions and in o/w emulsions. The physical prop
erties (surface tension, conductivity, light dispersion, viscosity, an
d granulometry) depend on the degree of purity of surfactant. This eff
ect is less important within the emulsion technology when thickener or
cosurfactant agents are added to the emulsion.
