Abstract
A decomposition method with decentralized control of complex chemical technological systems in which algorithms optimizing the performance o f the whole system use the coordination principle is considered. In th e method, the systems are represented as an ordered set of interacting blocks satisfying the feasibility condition for a specified state, an d the coordination technique is used to predict the interaction of the se blocks. The method is illustrated with reference to a distributed s ystem for controlling and optimizing the performance of a petroleum re finery.
