NEW APPROACH TO THE CLASSICAL RADIATION-FIELDS OF MOVING DIPOLES

We present an alternative approach for calculating classical radiation fields of moving point sources. This approach simplifies considerably the computation of the radiation fields of moving dipoles. As a novel application, we calculate the radiation fields of an arbitrarily movi ng toroid dipole. As a by-product, we derive new formulas for the radi ated power and the radiation reaction force of nonrelativistic electri c and toroid dipole moments. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
