Abstract
In this work we re-examine the influence of the microwave background r adiation on the propagation of extremely high energy cosmic rays. We p resent a recalculation of the rate of fractional energy loss in the co ntinuous energy loss approximation including the effects of resonances other than the Delta. We also discuss the distortion of the cosmic ra y spectrum due to interactions with the relic photons.
