Abstract
Techniques of reducing the oscillator noise of an active patch antenna are discussed. These include using different depth metallized cavitie s, higher dielectric constant substrate, and a low-noise active device . Experimental results show that the most effective method among these is using a deep cavity by which 38 dB noise reduction has been achiev ed. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
