Ab. Gilman et al., EFFECT OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE COMPONENTS OF A DIRECT-CURRENT GLOW-DISCHARGE ON PROPERTIES OF POLYIMIDE FILMS, High energy chemistry, 32(1), 1998, pp. 46-49
The UV irradiation of dc discharge was shown to exert no modifying eff
ect on the structure and properties of the surface of polyimide films.
By attenuated total reflectance IR spectroscopy, data on the nature o
f positively charged centers produced is the films during their treatm
ent in a dc discharge were obtained. The combined effect of negative a
nd positive charge slates induced in a modified polyimide on the surfa
ce potential and the contact angle of the polymer was studied.
