Abstract
The synthesis of ligand qr-BPY, in which the 1-pyrenyl group is direct ly connected to the 2,2'-bipyridyl unit, is described. Preliminary flu orescence results are indicative of the formation of an emitting intra molecular charge transfer stale. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All ri ghts reserved.
