Abstract
More precise data on the extent of commercial removal from populations of large whale species in the Southern Hemisphere and in tropical wat ers of the Northern Hemisphere are presented. In the light of new fact s, the models of population recovery and stabilization of some species in the World Ocean should be reviewed.
