Abstract
A tandem of electroabsorption modulators was fabricated with an integr ated separation waveguide. Owing to double modulation, optical pulses were generated with a -55dB extinction ratio. Compatibility with 4 x 2 0Gbit/s is demonstrated by interference noise measurements.
