Am. Moiseev et al., LIMITING OPERATING-CONDITIONS OF A HIGH-PRECISION RAPID-CYCLING BUBBLE-CHAMBER, Instruments and experimental techniques, 40(6), 1997, pp. 762-768
The effect of irreversible heat release on the ability of a high-preci
sion rapid-cycling liquid-hydrogen bubble chamber to function at a bub
ble density of 240 cm(-1) was studied. For this operating mode, the bu
bble growth rate and bubble localization uncertainties due to thermal
distortions were determined. The problem of how the trigger dead time
concerned with the effective volume (of the second-level trigger) shou
ld be taken into account in this operating mode was considered.
