The Central Amazonian palpigrade Eukoenenia janetscheki CONDE, 1993, w
as established on the basis of 13 specimens, but only the adult male w
as fully described, with brief comments on the adult female and the ju
veniles of both sexes. Now, the examination of 111 individuals, all fr
om the soil of upland primary and secondary forests, allow a much bett
er knowledge of the species. This includes a study of the evolution of
size, morphology and chaetotaxy at the three stages of the postembryo
nic development and sex-ratio of an isolated population (0.33 to 1.1)
and the whole material at hand (0.56).
