Abstract
A method for synthesising an array antenna in order to obtain its maxi mum directivity, when the antenna is in the presence of perfectly elec tric conducting (PEG) bodies, is presented. The proposed solution is b ased on the generalised multipole technique (GMT) combined with an opt imum directivity (OD) technique. A closed form formulation is presente d together with results which demonstrate the scanning capabilities of the proposed method.
