Abstract
Comparisons are presented of integrated precipitable water vapour (IPW V) measured using phase delay measurements from GPS satellites and pre dicted attenuation from a zenith-pointing 93 GHz ground-based radiomet er. These results illustrate thr possibility of achieving high accurac y of measurement of IPWV using GPS and also open up a new method of ab solute calibration for radiometers, In addition, the results demonstra te the availability of a significant new tool for millimetre-wave radi o propagation prediction and event diagnosis.
