Abstract
In this paper, the concepts of fuzzy prime ideals and prime fuzzy idea ls of a ring R are proposed, after analysing the deficiency of the fuz zy ideals defined in Malik and Mordeson (1990). Some characterizations apd properties are discussed. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
