Abstract
The specific secretion rate of recombinant erythropoietin (EPO) from C hinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells was increased by reducing agents. Add ition of 5 mM cysteamine to serum free medium led to almost 8-fold inc rease of specific EPO secretion rate although it was not effective in thiol free medium. Each reducing agent has its own optimal concentrati on for maximizing the EPO secretion from CHO cells.
