Abstract
A high power superfluorescent Er-doped fibre source with an environmen t-insensitive single-transverse-mode output is demonstrated using mult imode fibre. The efficient fundamental mode selection is explained by strong ground state absorption. The fibre deliver up to similar or equ al to 770 mW of output power with the highest conversion efficiency of 58%.
