Abstract
Nineteen girls adopted from developing countries were referred for sig ns of idiopathic precocious puberty. After adoption, the catch up in l inear and weight growth, together with improved nutritional and psycho logical conditions, may trigger the onset of puberty. Precocious puber ty is a frequent and unnatural event in these girls. Treatment with go nadotrophin releasing analogues is indicated in patients diagnosed ear ly, and when height prediction is poor.
