Abstract
Direct optical injection locking of a monolithic self-oscillating mixe r operating at similar to 6 GHz is reported. The mixing can be achieve d with conversion gain and the locking provides considerable improveme nt in carrier-to-noise ratio for both the oscillation signal and the r esultant intermediate-frequency (IF) signal. This type of component ma y be attractive for systems involving the fibre distribution of microw ave reference signals.
